José Manuel holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the Universidad La Salle, a Postgraduate Degree in Comprehensive Investment Analysis from the Universidad La Salle and a Master's Degree in Administration from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).
José Manuel has a career of more than 20 years in the automotive industry, 12 of which were spent at Toyota de México where he was President and CEO
from 2011-2013.
José Manuel is member of the Board of Directors of KUO, S.A.B. de C.V. and DINE, S.A.B. de C.V., as well as Chairman of the Audit Committee on both companies. He is an independent member on the Board of Directors of Mizuho Bank, which is a subsidiary of Mizuho Bank Ltd., part of the Mizuho Financial Group, where he also chairs the Audit Committee, and of Encontrack, which provides comprehensive solutions for satellite tracking of car and truck fleets.
He was also member of the Board of Trustees
of Nacional Monte de Piedad (Monte), as well as member of the operating and finance committee and the social investment committee of the institution. He was an independent member on the Board of Directors of Financiera Monte de Piedad.
Currently José Manuel is a partner at Integra M&A Automotríz, an investment banking company, where he has carried out multiple valuation and sale processes for both automotive distributors and other businesses in the logistics, financial, industrial sectors, among others, as well as such as obtaining financing and capital for investment projects in the auto parts sector. Additionally, he acts as an independent consultant to automotive distributors to improve their Corporate Governance and profitability.
He is also a member of the Association of MBAs (AMBAS).
